‘Stan Lee Tribute,’ live from L.A.

An L.A. tribute to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee will be broadcast live to Rockland’s Strand Theatre Tuesday night, Aug. 22.

Rockland — “Extraordinary: Stan Lee Tribute” will be broadcast live via satellite in HD from the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles to U.S. cinemas Tuesday, Aug. 22. The downtown Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., will show this event at 9 p.m.

A once-in-a-lifetime tribute to the career of the legendary Stan Lee, who created characters such as Spider-Man, the X-Men and Doctor Strange, “Extraordinary” looks back at the Marvel Comics legend’s life and storied career. Hosted by Chris Hardwick, the approximately 90-minute theatrical screening of this event will take a “This is Your Life” approach,” encompassing events from different periods of Lee’s life from growing up in Brooklyn to his first job and, finally, his present-day success.

Celebrity guests including Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Tom Bergeron, Michael Rooker, major comic book artist Todd McFarlane and many more will be on hand, giving thanks through retrospective segments that bring to light how Lee has influenced and inspired countless lives and creative endeavors.
