Democratic State Rep. Ann Matlack of St. George

St. George — Incumbent Democratic State Rep. Ann Matlack of St. George has no challenger in her bid for reelection.

Republican Karry Leparulo of St. George withdrew from the race Aug. 7, the Maine Secretary of State's Office reported. No replacement candidate was selected by the Republicans and the deadline to pick a replacement to get on the Nov. 3 ballot has passed.

Matlack represents Maine House District 92, which covers Cushing, Matinicus Isle, South Thomaston, St. George, Thomaston, Criehaven Township and Muscle Ridge Islands Township.

Matlack is serving her first two-year term in the House. She defeated Republican Justin Thompson of St. George in November 2018 for the seat that was held by Democratic Rep. John Spear of South Thomaston. The 2018 vote was 2,328 to 1,930.

Matlack serves on the Legislature's Taxation Committee.

Matlack has been involved in municipal and county government for 20-plus years, having served on the School Administrative District 50 school board, St. George Budget Committee and overlapped that with 10 years on the Knox County Budget Committee.
