Tenants Harbor — The Kinney-Melquist American Legion Post held a Memorial Day service Saturday morning at the public landing in Tenants Harbor.

The May 30 service was not publicized to avoid creating a gathering that would pose a health risk during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Members of the Legion's color guard marched down Commercial Street to the town landing. After a gun salute, Legion auxiliary member Beverly Emerson tossed a bouquet of flowers into the water.

High school senior Josephine Mathiau played Taps for the ceremony.
