By Stephen Betts | Feb 07, 2020

Spectrum service to Maine and New Hampshire went down Friday mid-afternoon adding to the technology misery for Midcoast residents dealing with power outages.

Spectrum posted on its Twitter account about 6 p.m.

"Restoration efforts are underway for our customers in Maine and New Hampshire that are without service due to damage impacting our fiber optic network. We apologize for the interruption of service and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue," the post from Twitter stated.

The service was restored at about 8:30 p.m.

There have been sporadic power outages throughout Knox County from the ice and wind Feb. 7.

Twice Friday afternoon there were outages exceeding one thousand customers in the North End of Rockland.

The latest occurred about 6 p.m. but was restored by 7 p.m. to all but five households.

There were 868 outages county-wide as of 7:30 p.m. The most -- 415 -- were in Camden with outages also in Appleton, Cushing, Friendship, Owls Head, Rockland, Rockport, Thomaston, South Thomaston, Warren, and Washington.

Spectrum went out again early this afternoon on Saturday and is still out at 4:30 pm.  Missed the debates last night.
