Service restored after outage of two plus hours

Spectrum outage leads Rockland Council to postpone meeting

By Stephen Betts | Apr 05, 2021

Rockland — A Spectrum outage that covered much of New England led the Rockland City Council to postpone its Monday evening meeting.

The Council holds its meetings via Zoom and also broadcasts them on the government access channel through Spectrum.

The outage occurred shortly before the 5:30 p.m. April 5 meeting was set to begin.

City Manager Tom Luttrell said the meeting would likely be rescheduled to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7.

Spectrum internet and cable television services were restored by 7:45 p.m.

Whoever owns them should get up to speed in reality instead of words.

Charter Communications purchased Time-Warner.

I thought Time-Warner was purchased by Comcast and renamed Spectrum. I can think of  word that rhymes with Spectrum which suits them better.

I think it would be nice if we had another cable provider option.  When I lived in Chicago, we had a choice.  Here, Spectrum is the only game in town.  I switched from one carrier to Comcast when I lived there, and the difference was incredible.  I would love to see Comcast come to mid-coast Maine.  There is nothing like a little competition to keep businesses on their toes!

Curious I called Spectrum's customer service line to inquiry about the outage.  I thought it was my equipment. I called and spoke with a sweet sounding droid who told me "there were no reportaged outages in my area".
