Soup kitchen volunteers enjoy appreciation dinner

Apr 11, 2018

Rockland — About 50 volunteers at St. Bernard's Soup Kitchen were treated to a prime rib dinner in the parish hall at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Saturday, April 7.

Each volunteer also received a coffee mug as a thank-you gift for their service.

The meal was prepared by the Rockland Knights of Columbus; most of the food was donated, event organizers said.

The soup kitchen serves 60 to 90 meals each weekday, with about 10 volunteers per day. More than half the volunteers have served for more than 10 years; some for more than 25 years.
