Waldoboro — The Broad Bay Congregational United Church of Christ, 941 Main St., will observe Martin Luther King weekend with a service dedicated to God’s call to justice Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. Jazz music provided by Mike Whitehead, trumpet; Tom Luther, piano; and Jason Dean, percussion, will alternate with readings about racial justice.

Cameron Bains, Claire Riser, Jim Gussen and Marcus Russano will read works by King, Susan Altman and Susan Lechner, Tim Wise and Langston Hughes. Musicians will interpret readings with original music. Samuel Scheuzger has designed the bulletin cover honoring the King's ministry.

Broad Bay Church invites the community to honor the King's legacy and recommit to creating communities where “justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Participants will be invited to commit to individual acts of justice in 2018.
