Is your best canine friend a super hero, super star or the most interesting dog in the world?  Does your friend have what it takes to be a Sea Dog?  Sunday, August 31 P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center invites all dog owners to showcase their furry companions’ talents and charisma at the annual Camden Windjammer Festival Sea Dog Show in Camden’s Harbor Park.

Contestants will test their speed and agility in an obstacle course and strut their stuff against the backdrop of the scenic Camden Harbor.  A panel of judges will award prizes courtesy of the Loyal Biscuit Company and Maine Dog for Tallest and Shortest Dogs, Longest and Shortest Tails, Largest and Shortest Ears, Best Nautical Costume, Best Dog Trick, and Most Unusual Name.

Registration for participating in the event begins at 10 AM.  The Sea Dog Show begins at 11 AM.  The registration is a suggested donation of $5 to P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center. Preregistration is available online at and

P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center was established in 1974 as the Camden-Rockport Rescue League to address the need to find permanent homes for lost, abandoned, neglected or homeless dogs and cats.  Since its founding it has grown to serve the towns of Camden, Rockport, Northport, Lincolnville, Isleboro, Searsmont, Belfast, Liberty and Swanville.
