Sea Bags to donate portion of proceeds to fight cancer

Portland — Sea Bags (, designers and manufacturers of handmade items from recycled sails, will once again sell its Cancer Awareness or "Cure" accessories to raise money to support cancer prevention, screening, and survival rates in Maine during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. This year represents Sea Bags’ 11th anniversary running a Cure Campaign and contributing 20 percent of sales to Maine Cancer Foundation from all "Cure" items sold to help reduce the incidence of cancer in Maine.

The company has 12 stores, including one at 6 Main St., Camden, and also offers its products online.
