Camden — Claudia Schmidt and Sally Rogers will perform Thursday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Picker Room of Camden Public Library. Tickets are $12, available at the downtown library.

Schmidt and Rogers have been at the music for four decades, often in solo ventures. Schmidt has traveled easily among folk, jazz, and theater; Rogers is well known in the folk world and has created celebrated children’s music, as well as writing for community theater.

Their musical chemistry, which first showed itself when they joined each other onstage for the very first time at the North Country Folk Festival in Ironwood, Mich., 35 years ago, has taken them to a new and different place. The tow women are thrilled with the release of their fourth collaboration and latest CD, “We Are Welcomed.” It feature’s the duo’s amazing vocals front and center, surrounded by the lively accompaniment of Duke Levine, Richard Gates and Dave Mattacks, playing piano, strings, oboe, reed organ and Hammond B3 organ.

For tickets, stop by the library or email cmiller@librarycamden.org or kgross@librarycamden.org.
