Santa’s back, by popular demand

Dec 02, 2017
Chris Augusta’s Santa paintings, and cards, are back at Waldoboro Public Library.

Waldoboro — Back by popular demand, Santa paintings with a twist by Chris Augusta are on view this month at Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St./Route 220.

With his respects to famous artists Andrew Wyeth, George Bellows, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Henri Rousseau, Paul Gaugin and Edgar Degas, the Waldoboro artist playfully and skillfully features Santa in their well-known works. The paintings also are printed on Christmas cards that may be purchased at the library, individual cards for $3 or packages of eight for $15, with 50 cents and $3 of each sale, respectively, given to the library.

The library is grateful to Augusta for his generosity, and his wit. What would Santa say? Find out Saturday, Dec. 9, when St. Nick visits the library from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 832-4484.
