Rugs, textiles to take center stage

Waldoboro — The Waldoborough Historical Society will hold a Rugs and Textiles reception Sunday, Aug. 20, from noon to 3 p.m. at the museum, 1164 Main St./Route 220.

The museum’s collection of hooked and braided rugs will be on view, along with other textiles such as quilts, cross-stitch, embroidery and afghans, plus many artifacts of interest.  Trustees Pat Kristiansen and Kathie Hills will be present to answer questions.

The book “Art Under Foot” by Mildred Peladeau will be available at a special reception price. The public is welcome; there is no admission charge. The Barn and the Schoolhouse also will be open for viewing.
