Rockport — West Bay Rotary has gone to the dogs, helping P.A.W.S Animal Adoption Center. build an exercise path on the grounds of the shelter recently.

Twice a year the chapter invites nonprofits and organizations to apply for donations through its charitable foundation. When possible, members like to offer their help through volunteer hours that can often be more valuable than the funds they could provide. The group  regularly helps organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Hospitality House by volunteering, and this month they did it for P.A.W.S.

Between Oct. 5 and Oct. 7, West Bay Rotarians cut sod, cleared a path, and mulched approximately a quarter-mile of open paths for safe walking for the dogs at P.A.W.S. who are awaiting their forever homes. The Rotarians who worked on this project include, from left, Etienne Perret, Leamon Scott, Rick Tasker, George Abendroth, Jim Potter, and Sandy Cox. Mark Masterson also helped, but is not pictured.
