Rockport — Construction on the new Rockport Library continues to move forward.

Electricians have continued their work on light fixtures and other electrical systems in the building — including the elevator installation — and the sheetrock walls are being taped. A lot of work is being done in the evening to limit the number of people in the building at once.

Roofing for the building is expected to start the week of July 1.

A clock that will be located on the Russell Ave end of the building is being fabricated. The granite name plate for the library is also in progress.

The elevator for the library is scheduled to be installed in late July.

A landscaping bid for the exterior of the building is out and due back July 3 and is expected to be awarded by July 13. The landscaping work will be done over the summer.
