Apr 28, 2020

Rockland — Rockland Public Library has announced a free trial of Kanopy video streaming service for Rockland Library cardholders. The free trial will run through midnight Thursday, May 28. Cardholders can access Kanopy and sign up to begin streaming films instantly by visiting rocklandmaine.kanopy.com/. The library will also link to the trial from the Rockland Public Library website.  Please do be aware that, due to budgetary constraints, the library may be unable to continue this service following the trial period; your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

After creating an account, films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku.

Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films and world cinema with collections from Kino Lorber, Music Box Films, Samuel Goldwyn, The Orchard, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers.

Parents can explore a curated selection of educational and enriching videos on Kanopy Kids. Kanopy Kids highlights films and TV series that inspire and inform, helping children develop empathy, mindfulness and self-esteem through entertaining and educational videos.

For more information, contact the library at 594-0310, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
