Rockland law firm hires attorney who was a prosecutor

Jesse Rutter has joined the Rockland law firm of Hanscom & Collins.

Rockland — Rockland law firm Hanscom & Collins P.A has hired attorney, Jesse Rutter. Rutter joined Hanscom & Collins in October 2018, bringing with him 13 years of experience practicing law in New York.

He began his legal career as an assistant district attorney with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office. While an ADA, he prosecuted various types of misdemeanor and felony offenses, and worked closely with the New York City Police Department on large-scale drug and firearm investigations. In 2009, he moved into private practice and was named partner in an insurance defense firm on Long Island.

Rutter received his bachelor's degree from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Mass., and his law degree from St. John's University School of Law in Queens, N.Y.

Rutter’s practice at Hanscom & Collins focuses on all types of litigation, from real estate and probate to family law to consumer rights and personal injury. He also handles real estate matters for buyers, sellers and lenders, landlord-tenant issues, estate planning and administration and business law.
