Rockland-area school district hires new staff

Rockland — The Rockland-area school board hired seven new staff members during its Thursday evening, Sept. 6, meeting -- including an alumnus who will serve as an assistant principal at South Elementary School.

The new employees for Regional School Unit 13 include:

Benjamin Baudanza Sturks as assistant principal of South School in Rockland. He is a graduate of Rockland District High School. He has worked in the Boston area with special needs students, Superintendent John McDonald said at the meeting.

Terri Church was hired for a one-year position as assistant principal of Oceanside High School in Rockland. She had most recently worked for RSU 3, which is based in the Unity area. She is a veteran special education teacher, the superintendent said.

Kelly Willis was hired as a special education teacher at South School.

Terry Coasta was hired as a social studies teacher at Oceanside High School.

Jaime Gregory was hired as school nurse for South School.

Lisa Eliot Laamann was hired as a social worker at Thomaston Grammar School and South School.

And Katherine Stevens was hired as a special education case manager.
