Rock City: Chitlins duo, Blind Albert Band

Rockland — Rock City Café, 316 Main St., will present live music Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 20 and 21, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday will feature Married with Chitlins, the acoustic music duo of Liz and Chris Lannon. The couple performs traditional American music, old-time country and blues, some jazz standards and Celtic reels and jigs. Married with Chitlins is mainly guitar and fiddle with a strong female lead vocal with harmonies.

The Blind Albert Band takes the stage Saturday, fronted by Vincent Gabriel, who has been creating and performing his own brand of music for more than four decades. The singer/songwriter, guitarist and sound engineer formed his first band and started playing out in high school. After serving a tour of duty in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, he returned to making music, honing his skills in Connecticut, California, Cape Cod and, finally, Midcoast Maine. The Blind Albert Band dates back to the early 1990s.
