Robert Foisy

Palmyra — Robert Edward Foisy passed away peacefully at home June 8, 2017, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born July 30, 1946, to Francis E. and Mary R. (Vincini) Foisy in Framingham, Mass, Robert grew up on Gleason Street, forming many lifelong friendships. After graduating from Framingham North High School in 1964, he was employed by Sears before enlisting in the Army Corps of Engineers. He served for three years in Germany, then returned to Sears Automotive, where he stayed for 42 years. Retiring in 2006, Robert and his first wife, Barbara, moved to an old Palmyra farmhouse with 21 acres and a fine, big barn in which Robert spent many happy hours.

A kind, funny, gregarious man who loved to laugh, Robert is remembered fondly by his many friends in many states, and with great love by his family. Left to celebrate his life is Elizabeth, his wife of three years; his children, Jeanette Cox of Marlborough, Mass., Jon Foisy of Dayville, Conn., and Kristina Foisy of Ashland, Mass.; his grandson, Matthew Cox, of Shrewsbury, Mass.; his sister, Elaine O'Brien, and husband Tom of Marlborough, Mass.; his brothers, Paul Foisy and wife Martha of Freedom and Francis E. "Eddie" Foisy of North Harwich, Mass.; many nephews and nieces. He will be very missed by all of them, as well as by his beloved dog, Jeanmarie, and his beautiful Tennessee Walker stallion, Love At Sunrise. He was predeceased by his parents and first wife, Barbara (Story) Foisy.

The family would like to thank the staff of Layfayette Cancer Care of Maine and Eastern Maine Hospice for their wonderful care and comfort through the last part of Robert's life journey.

There will be a service at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Palmyra, June 24 at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at the church. A celebration of Robert's life and scattering of his ashes will be held at the farm on his birthday, July 30, at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend one or both. For information or directions, call Elizabeth at 938-2382, or email ohavhope@hotmail.com. Those who wish may leave written condolences at CrosbyNeal.com.
