Wiscasset — Between the persistent raindrops and occasional sun this spring, the Riverhawks flew high above Busline League middle school baseball opponents, only choosing to land — and perch — long enough to swing, pitch and run to another victory.

The Medomak eighth-graders (12-1) continued that trend in impressive fashion on Saturday morning, June 15 when it swooped in to win the league championship with a 14-1 victory over two schools, well, one team, combined Nobleboro and Jefferson (11-3), which includes sixth- through eighth-graders.

In beautiful, ideal weather conditions, Medomak, the North Division champion, and Nobleboro-Jefferson, the South titlist, played the league's final game at Wiscasset High School.
