Registration opens for Megunticook Rowing spring season

Mar 11, 2019

Camden — The 2019 Megunticook Rowing spring rowing season is almost here and sign-ups are available at MegunticookRowing.org. There will be a parent meeting for prospective students Wednesday April 10 at Camden Hills Regional High School at 6:30 p.m. in the lecture hall.

The Junior Competitive Varsity girls & boys program, which runs Monday through Friday, April 22 to May 25, from 5:30 to 7 a.m., is a competitive program that requires commitment to attendance and participating in two out-of-town regattas and one local regatta.

In addition to the regular junior rowing team, Megunticook Rowing is offering a novice and non-competitive class for girls and boys, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 22 through May 25, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. This class has more relaxed attendance expectations and rowers will not participate in the out-of-town regattas. This is for anyone new to rowing as well as experienced rowers not wanting the competitive commitment, but still want to be part of the Junior Team. The focus is on learning team rowing techniques, adapting to different boats, boat seat lineups and enjoying the row.
