Rockland — Local artist Sue Reed returns to Coastal Children's Museum to lead an all ages workshop Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to noon with a spin on her fall tree collage that she presented last fall.

This month Reed will lead visitors in making spring trees by ripping and gluing paper onto a colored background. All participants will be invited to take part in a communal mural, adding spring to a large tree that we will display in the museum to celebrate the season.

“We are so lucky to have such talented artists as neighbors,” said Outreach Coordinator Megan Rogers, “it is a treat when families and children get to meet and make art with artists and we love giving people that opportunity.”

Reed was born in Missouri, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri, with an MFA in printmaking/drawing. She has worked as an independent artist for over 20 years. Reed also leads an all ages art workshop Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor. A gallery of her work can be seen at

The workshop is included in the price of admission for non-members and free for members. Space is limited so sign up is requested.
