Quarry Hill to offer program on local Syria charity Aug. 15

Jul 13, 2018

Camden — Camden resident Alison McKellar will discuss her work as a volunteer and now chair of the Board of Directors of the nonprofit NuDay Syria when Quarry Hill presents “To Syria with Love,” Wednesday, August 15, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Quarry Hill’s main building, the Anderson Inn, 30 Community Drive.

NuDay Syria collects food, medical supplies, clothing and other materials — to date, some 70, 40-foot shipping containers’ worth — for Syrian refugees fleeing violence in their country. McKellar will discuss the impetus behind the project and explain what Maine people can do to help. She’ll also describe the organization’s recent efforts to collect marine shrinkwrap for use in constructing tents and hospitals in Syria.

The program is free, but advance registration is required. To sign up, call Quarry Hill at 921-6116 or email qhinfo@pbmc.org.
