Prenatal yoga starts Oct. 15

Rockland — Prenatal yoga will be offered Tuesdays, Oct. 15 through Nov. 19,from  6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at The Dancing Elephant, 14 School St. The class, which will be taught by yoga instructor Erin Grade, is free with donations accepted and is open to women at any stage of pregnancy. Registration is requested; drop-ins are also welcome.

Each prenatal yoga class will integrate breathing techniques, warm-ups, core strengthening postures, relaxation, and meditation to support pregnant women. The benefits of prenatal yoga include stress relief, reduced nausea, reduced inflammation, increased stamina and strength, as well as increased bonding and compassion. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

Grade began practicing yoga and mindfulness in 2007. She studied at the ShivaShakti School of Yoga & Healing Arts, completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2014.
