Warren — A  man is being held at the Knox County Jail, accused of threatening to shoot a woman as well as a neighbor who tried to help her.

Shane Stockbridge, 24, of Warren, was arrested earlier this week and charged with four counts of domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, two counts of domestic violence assault, and one count each of discharging a firearm near a dwelling and reckless conduct with a firearm.

An affidavit filed in court by Knox County Sheriff's Detective Dwight Burtis says the officer contacted the woman after he became aware of a protection from abuse order she obtained against the man.

The woman told the detective that on multiple occasions Stockbridge had pointed a handgun at her face and threatened to shoot her. He also physically assaulted her on two occasions.

During a July 9 incident, neighbors reported that they witnessed one of the threatening incidents and that Stockbridge pointed the gun at them when they tried to intercede. He then fired the gun in the air several times.

That incident was not reported to police at the time.

The woman reported that after she obtained the protection order from the court Aug. 7, Stockbridge would repeatedly drive by her house. She said she had not gone to the police because she feared he would assault her again.

The detective became aware of the protection order Monday, Aug. 13, and immediately contacted the woman and other witnesses. He obtained an arrest warrant from the court and apprehended Stockbridge.

Stockbridge made his initial appearance in Knox County Court Wednesday, Aug. 15, where bail was set at $5,000 cash.

This is a drug addled mind who believes this woman is his! Sadly a lot of men think similar thoughts and perhaps mentally abuse their spouse. This is a courageous woman.
