Police probe toilet paper burglary

By Stephen Betts | Sep 03, 2018

Warren — The theft of a roll of toilet paper from the Warren Public Library is under investigation.

A library employee noticed a screen that had apparently been cut and window open leading into the bathroom, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The police were called Thursday afternoon Aug. 30.

The only thing that appears to be missing is a roll of toilet paper, according to police. Nothing else appeared to have been disturbed.

The case is under investigation.

Big Ben And Stanley are sorry for your loss. We suspect the crime scene has been wiped clean by now. We both hope this terrible crime can be put behind you and you can move on.

Knox county sheriff officers have positively identified the thief in last Thursday's robbery in Warren.  It seems the  perpetrator had returned at night to the scene of the crime.  Officers on a stake out at the Public Library, heard a rustling in the bushes.  Upon shining their light,  the wiley crook (still wearing his mask) decided to come clean.  Before they were able to arrest the thief, he grabbed one of the officers donuts and scurried off into the undergrowth.  Knox County Sheriffs department has asked the public to be on the lookout for a suspicious looking  raccoon (with chocolate on his mouth).  As of press time, department officials were still processing "the paper work".  If you wish to contact the Sheriffs office they will be 10/10 DD

If people were smart-they would avoid buying extra charmin until this bandit has been apprehended. By doing so-you make yourself a target, and your family at risk of wiping with less-than-luxurious paper towels. Do you really want this on your conscience????? Because I know I sure as 1000 sheets per roll don't! KCSO-do your job!  ~Melanie Keene

So Emmett maybe you could do a follow-up piece.  I sure miss your stories.  Maybe even catch the thief by following "the paper trail".

So Steve I know Labor day is a slow news day, but you are really reaching with this story.  This is certainly going to draw a comment from Emmett.
