Police probe reported Hope home invasion

By Stephen Betts | Oct 13, 2020

Hope — The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating a reported home invasion early this week.

A resident of Hope called 911 around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 12 to report that several men broke into their home and were demanding money.

Deputies arrived and determined an altercation occurred.

Detectives, the police canine and his handler were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The incident is still under investigation and release of details are being limited at this time.

Chief Deputy Patrick Polky said the department does not feel there is a threat to the public at large and the case appears to be an isolated incident.
