Police investigating case of 3-year-old wandering alone

Rockland — The case of a 3-year-old boy found wandering by himself April 27 at the Maine State Ferry Terminal property remains an active investigation, according to Rockland police.

Police were called by Ferry Service employees at about 9:30 a.m. April 27 who spotted the child and went to get him. Police arrived and posted a notice on its Facebook page with the child's photograph, asking for the public's assistance.

Detective Sgt. Alex Gaylor said with the public's help, police were able to identify the parents and ultimately located them.

No additional information is being released while the investigation continues.
