Hope — A 28-year-old Hope man is free on bail after police say he had sex with a dog and videotaped the act.

Nicholase W. Hill was arrested the evening of Aug. 28 and charged with Class D cruelty to animals. He was released on bail the following day after posting $250 cash.

According to an affidavit filed in Knox County Court in Rockland, Knox County Sheriff's Office Detective Justin Twitchell received a complaint Aug. 20 from a citizen who reported that he believed Hill had been having sex with his dog.

After interviewing another witness, the Sheriff's Office was provided a video sent by Hill through Facebook messenger to the witness in which the sexual act is shown, according to the affidavit.

The female witness told police that Hill had wanted to have a threesome with her and the dog, but she refused and alerted the owner of the Husky dog. The woman also said Hill had told her that he had sex with the dog on multiple other occasions.

Twitchell then obtained an arrest warrant from the court Aug. 22.

The complaint filed in Knox County Court charged Hill with a Class D offense, which has a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail.

He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Sept. 16.

I see so many people on multiple stories attack Mr. Betts for doing his job, just because this is an absolutely DISGUSTING act, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be reported. For all of you that continue to post negative comments, WHY would you think that it shouldn’t be reported. Think about the people that live close to this person, would you want him around your children or pets?? Think for a minute before you attack the person that is doing nothing wrong, just reporting the news. And since you are posting comments, you pay for Village Soup, if you don’t want to read it, unsubscribe.

Why the crying about reporting this? Isn't this just as bad as abuse to a child or an assault against another?  Just because it's not reported doesn't mean it doesn't happen folks.  I can see others calling Steve out if it was not reported.  Criminal news reporting is not glorious by any means, can't have it both ways folks.

Steve I heard the National Inquirer is looking for a free lance writer ?  Are you sure he's a Hope resident ?  Think he lives beyond hope.  If it's a slow news day and you need a filler piece, give me a call.  I think my list of stories is better than this.

sure people are repulsed but just think... he will do it to someone elses dog what will keep him from doing it to a child.  Instead of being prissy, I bet his neighbors are interested in knowing his behaviors are aberrant
