Thomaston — Thomaston emergency crews and police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 1 in front of Dragon Cement Products around 8:15 a.m. Sept. 14.

According to Patrol Officer Jake Labo, a 2013 white Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Ian Kirkham, 31, of Warren, was traveling north on Route 1 when somehow he clipped a CMP pole on the southbound side before coming to rest in some bushes and fencing on the northbound side.

"The driver said he doesn't remember what happened," Labo said.

Kirkham received minor cuts from broken glass, but refused transport to the hospital, according to Labo.

Traffic was down to one lane as the crews cleared the scene.

The vehicle, which was destroyed, was towed from the scene by Creek Hill Auto of Thomaston.

CMP was called to stabilize the pole until it can be replaced.
