Camden — The Camden Public Library will host Camden resident, Janet Gold, and Honduran poet, Ana María Alemán, to discuss their bilingual book of poetry, One Bridge, Two Voices/Un Puente, Dos Voces, Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.

Gold traveled to San Pedro Sula, Honduras in July to visit Alemán and celebrate the publication of their book. During her visit, the two women participated in the International Poetry Festival “Los Confines” in the town of Gracias in western Honduras, not far from the Guatemalan border.

During the presentation, Gold and Alemán will discuss and read selections from their book, describe some of the challenges of publishing in a country struggling with economic, social and political crises, and share stories of cultural collaboration and creativity from the historic gathering of more than 50 poets from around the world.

Janet Gold participates regularly in the Leer y Charlar Spanish language group that meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at the Camden Public Library. To learn more about this group or Gold and Alemán’s presentation, visit librarycamden.org.
