Rockport — A new takeout pizza business called Spice is planned for Route 90 in Rockport.

Aphiwat Ruklittikul, known locally for his previous business, "Mr. Wat," in Rockport, plans to serve what he calls "herbal pizza" at 148 West St. He also plans to be the sole employee in a one-person operation.

The project is going before the Planning Board Jan. 23. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.

The owner said he hopes to open as soon as possible, but needs to renovate the building space to serve as a takeout restaurant. He plans to serve pizza with toppings including curry, peanut sauce and mango.

He previously ran Mr. Wat for about five years before selling it a year ago to his brother.

He is leasing the property from Linda Campbell of Rockport.

The Planning Board will also consider an application for a 2,400-square-foot storage building proposed by Stephen and Jacqueline Laite of Camden. The building would be located at 314 West St.
