Rockport — A pickup truck crashed into a house on Route 17, near the intersection with Route 90, causing significant damage and injuring one person early Friday afternoon.

The Rockport Fire Department, Rockport Police and Northeast Ambulance responded to the crash, which took place in icy, wet conditions at about 1 p.m. at 859 Rockland St.

Fire Chief Jason Peasley said one person suffered a possible arm injury.

The house was struck by a red GMC pickup truck, which was also damaged in the crash. Camden Exxon towed the vehicle from the scene.

Traffic was down to one lane on Route 17 for about half an hour.

It was not the first call of the busy day in Rockport. The department responded earlier to a car crashing into a telephone pole near Danica Candles. There were no injuries in that crash.
