Performance, visual arts converge in ‘Wax Wings’

Sep 12, 2017

Camden — Midcoast actors, dancers, artists and musicians are preparing to present “Wax Wings,” a mythical theater journey through dance, film, poetry and music, for three performances only: Friday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, at 3 p.m. at the downtown Camden Opera House.

The original script by Kathryn Oliver weaves literary references, archetypal stories and short films with choreography and music by Kristi Williamson. "Wax Wings" imaginatively explores the complex shadow archetype through visual and dramatic storytelling. Each performance is followed by an art show and reception/artist talk in the opera house’s Tucker Room.

The general admission tickets are $20. Advance tickets are available at Zoot Coffee in Camden, Bella Books in Belfast and Grasshopper Shop in Rockland. Tickets also will be available at the door on the day of show. For more information, visit waxwingstheater.com or email WaxWingsTheater@gmail.com.
