The Penobscot Bay Ringers will perform at the Camden Public Library May 19.

Camden — Penobscot Bay Ringers, Midcoast Maine’s community handbell choir, will present Bells by the Bay, a spring concert to benefit the Camden Public Library, 55 Main St., on Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. in the library’s reading room.

The concert will feature a variety of familiar tunes, as well as pieces composed specifically for handbells. The group will be accompanied on several pieces by cellist Joan Welsh, of Rockport. Debra Hall, of Rockport, will also play several handbell solo pieces, accompanied by Susan Jones, of Union, on piano. The concert is open to the public and free-will donations will be gratefully accepted to benefit the Camden Public Library.

“Penobscot Bay Ringers is honored to support the fundraising efforts of the Camden Public Library,” said Amy Rollins, artistic director for Penobscot Bay Ringers. “Our group has staged several successful benefit concerts for local institutions, including the Chestnut Street Baptist Church Save Our Steeple project, and we look forward to assisting the library with its fundraising goals, as well.”

Come and enjoy the orchestral sounds of a five-octave handbell choir while supporting the Camden Public Library.
