Pen Bay Y hires nutritionist/dietician

Rockport — Marcy Kyle, RDN , LD, CDE, FAND, has joined the Penobscot Bay YMCA as its nutrition specialist to support the Y’s vision and mission to provide health promotion, disease prevention and wellness services. She will be offering group weight loss classes called “Jump Start Your Weight Loss”. The Jump Start Program is a step-by-step approach that first helps participants become students of their own unique behaviors, develop awareness of when, how and why individual behaviors occur and, more importantly, how to adopt new, healthier habits. For members of the Y, Kyle will also provide medical nutrition therapy to treat chronic conditions, illnesses or injuries. She possesses comprehensive knowledge of diabetes management, prediabetes, and diabetes prevention. She is also a member of the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine, a specialty practice group of nutrition practitioners whose core philosophy centers around a holistic, personalized approach to health and healing. Members integrate a variety of nutrition therapies including whole foods, tailored supplements and mind body modalities in clinical practice.

Kyle is a graduate of the University of Texas and lives in Rockport with her husband. She has two grown sons, two grandchildren, and in her spare time loves to cook, garden and hike the hills of Camden.
