PAWS: Leeman is looking for love

Feb 19, 2013

Do we have a couple of gorgeous guys for you this week?! And if you’re not seeing them in color, rush, RUSH to our website at to get the full benefit of Teddy’s spectacular green eyes and Leeman’s brown-velvet ears. These are two absolutely beautiful boys.

Teddy is also a true sweetie. In his ideal home he reigns all alone but every bit of the love and attention he gets will be returned many times over. Guaranteed. Would those eyes lie to you?

Seven-year-old Leeman, a boxer mix, is a gentle giant who loves to go for walks and car rides. Sometimes he’s not sure about other dogs, but he is always willing to give it a try. Leeman likes to give hugs and sit in your lap — whatever its size! — and if he goes home to your house, you can be sure that you’re going to share your couch with him.

February is a month for love, and we want all of our cats to find their special someone before it is over. For the rest of the month, all the cats that have one of the letters L, O, V or E in their name have a special adoption fee of $14. Stop by and make one of our many wonderful cats your very own valentine.

Coming up: kitten season. And we are, as always at this time of the year, looking for foster homes for these little bundles of charm and energy. Please call the shelter if your heart and your home are ready for the awesome experience of seeing kits become cats.

Did you know that the shelter has a TV show called Reigning Cats and Dogs? It’s a bi-weekly show that airs on Thursdays on channel 7 in Knox County and channel 2 in Belfast, and it’s a great way to meet our fabulous residents and keep up with everything that’s going on at the shelter. So please turn on and tune in!

Our need for non-clumping cat litter and canned cat food is too great to be listed as a wish this week. We will appreciate any help we can get in this situation, and since we’re pretty sure some of you out there will respond to our cry for help, let us say thank you a thousand times, in advance.

Like us on Facebook and check out our website for more information on PAWS. And don’t forget to stop in and see us and all our awesome animals at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is 236-8702 and is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
