Bronx, N.Y. — Paul William Renshtie, 91, of the Bronx, N.Y., passed away Feb. 6, 2021. He was at the VA Nursing Home in Montrose for the past couple years.

Paul was born to the late Louis and Elise (Schoener) Renshtie Sept. 18, 1929 in the Bronx, N.Y.

Paul served in the U.S. Army from January 1951 until January 1953 when he was transferred to the Army Reserve, and honorably discharged in January 1957.

His career was spent at Albee Sign Company in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. Paul was a member of the Bronx Power Squadron for over 50 years. He was an avid boat lover and owned his Lyman boat “Dreamboat” for over 50 years.

He also loved summers at his cottage in St. George and was always tinkering with something. He thought nothing of getting on a ladder in his 80s. He also belonged to the Widow and Widowers Club in Westchester, N.Y., and took exercise classes for many years at Sound Shore Medical Center in Larchmont, N.Y.

Paul was married to his beloved wife Ida (Salmela) Renshtie until her passing in 2005.

Paul is survived by his daughter Susan Lehmann of Montrose, N.Y. Paul was also predeceased by his dear companion Rachael Gentile, who passed away in August 2020.

Committal for Paul will be private.
