Parkinson's group to hear pros, cons of drug trials Aug. 7

Jul 13, 2018

Camden — At the next meeting of the Camden-based Parkinson’s Support Group, set for Tuesday, Aug. 7, group member Frank Mundo will talk about his experience as a participant in clinical drug trials and discuss some of the issues one should consider before deciding whether to participate in drug studies. The meeting will begin at noon with Mundo’s presentation and continue until 2 p.m., with attendees separating into smaller groups for discussion. Anyone living with Parkinson’s, as well as their family members and caregivers, is welcome to attend.

Supplementing his personal account with insights gleaned from his research on the topic, Mundo will explain how clinical trials are conducted and how study participants may be affected, medically and otherwise. He’ll also touch on the directions science is now taking in the fight against Parkinson’s disease.
