Medomak Valley bests Mount View, falls to Nokomis as it eyes final stretch of regular season

Thorndike — The number of regular-season high school wrestling meets left on the 2017-2018 schedule can be counted on one hand, and if one inserted a dash between two fingers on said hand, it would describe Medomak Valley’s record coming out of a midweek meet.

The Panthers finished 1-1 in a tri-meet on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Waldo County.

Medomak Valley, 11-7 in dual-matches this season, took down host Mount View 66-18, but lost to Nokomis of Newport 38-24.

The individual Medomak Valley results, with Panthers listed first, included:

106 pounds — Josh McDougall won by forfeit over Mount View. Marshall Sawyer lost to Calvin Peck, Nok.

113 pounds — Marshall Sawyer pinned Morgan Fonger, MtV. Josh MacDougall won by forfeit over Nokomis.

120 pounds — Gavin Readinger won by forfeit over Mount View; and was pinned by Caleb Carrell, Nok.

126 pounds — Colby Hyde pinned Emma Fonger, MtV; and was pinned by Tyler Preble, Nok.

132 pounds — Emily Harris won by forfeit over Mount View. Damien Henry was pinned by Joshua Ensminger-Brown, Nok.

138 pounds — Damien Henry was pinned by Mark Ward, MtV. Emily Harris won by forfeit over Nokomis.

160 pounds — Elias Miller pinned Michael Cole, MtV; and lost to David Wilson, Nok.

170 pounds — Jakob Gess pinned Matthew Barnard, MtV. Tyler Cox lost by technical fall to Quinton Richards, Nok.

182 pounds — Tyler Cox won by forfeit over Mount View. Elijah Lash pinned Sidney Gebo, Nok.

195 pounds — Amos Hinkley won by forfeit over Mount View; and lost to Alex Glidden, Nok.

220 pounds — Jacob White won by forfeit over Mount View. Erik Benner was pinned by James Boyd, Nok.

285 pounds — Erik Benner pinned Nathaniel Fuller, MtV. Jacob White pinned Nicholas Lincoln, Nok.
