Palaver Strings

Rockport — The Music@Dusk series continues Friday, April 20, with the Palaver Strings. The Bay Chamber Concerts event is set for 6 p.m. in Union Hall, 24 Central St.

The ensemble’s program, titled Parallel Freedoms, offers an exploration of the blurred lines between genres, where classical and jazz composers inspire one another; and classically trained musicians are inspired to program, arrange and improvise. Bay Chamber favorites, Palaver Strings will perform Claude Debussy’s String Quartet in G minor, arranged for string orchestra; Charles Trenet’s “La Mer”; and Louis Andriessen’s “Facing Death,” as well as music by Esperanza Spalding and Morgan Lewis.

Music@Dusk is an hour-long performance during which concertgoers can enjoy a glass of wine in the intimate setting of Union Hall. Tickets are $30, $10 for those younger than 25. The series concludes May 18 with The Anderson Trio. For advance tickets and more information, visit baychamberconcerts.org.
