Paint, Play at the Art Loft

Jan 03, 2019

Rockland — Paint Nights return to the downtown Art Loft, with a twist — Justin Kinney will lead a session painting floral wine glasses Saturday, Jan. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kinney will lead participants in creating custom wine glasses; although there will be a guided lesson, creativity is encouraged in creating one’s own unique design. All materials will be provided for the creation of two glasses for the special winter/spring launch price of $25.

The paint night is BYOB, so feel free to bring a bottle to accompany those new glasses. To reserve a spot, register in advance; drop-ins are only accepted as space permits.

Local photographer and mixed media artist Amy Wilton is leading classes throughout January at the Art Loft, 385 Main Street, Suite 9 (inside the lobby of the Thorndike Building), focusing on Word Art. Word Play will be the theme Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon; and Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Participants will explore the use of everyday language and how it affects our perception of ourselves. They may bring laptops and work on Photoshop or Illustrator; or work with materials provided. These classes are free for Art Loft members, $20 drop-in for non-members.

For more information and to register, call the downtown nonprofit community art center at 200-7915; email info@artloftrockland.org; or visit artloftrockland.org.
