P.A.W.S: Two lovely ladies

By Carolyn Marsh | May 06, 2014

Oh, my! Talk about the darling buddies of May! And these two gorgeous girls have personalities as distinctive as their looks.

Madison, our lovely dilute calico, is looking for a home — but more or less on her own terms.  Behind that sweet face lurks a dedicated mouser, and despite her air of helplessness she would prefer a person with whom she could converse rather than be petted by, if you can follow our grammatical convolutions. She came to us as a stray, and we think she probably spent most of her time outside getting very street smart. But beauty is forgiven many things, and Madison is no exception.

Daisy is another cat with a mind of her own. (Did we really say that? Have we ever met a cat who didn’t have a mind of his or her own? Are we barmy?) Daisy wants attention when she wants it. She is happy to rub up against your leg in circles or to be scratched under her chin. But when she says, albeit in a very nice way, "Game over!," you better believe that’s it. In addition to giving orders, she loves to play with string and chase the laser light.

Ah, the kittens are coming, and several litters who are out in foster homes will be coming to PAWS very soon. Keep checking with us — you won’t want to miss these cuties.

Are you spring cleaning? Do you have towels or sheets you no longer want?  Well, we want them! Drop them off and we can use them. We are always in need of towels, flat sheets and washcloths.

Do you have a barn that needs some superior mouse management? Give us a call. We have a couple of cats who would be happier living in a barn than at the shelter. These are working cats, and they chafe at not having a job to do.

On our wish list: cat litter, dog toys, cat toys and garbage bags.

As May burgeons, please drop by and see us and all our fantastic furry people at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is (207) 236-8702 and our website at pawsadoption.org is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
