P.A.W.S: Happy-go-lucky Buddy and Princess Sophie

By Carolyn Marsh | Jan 28, 2014

Our sweet Buddy is a playful, happy-go-lucky, please-take-me-home kind of dog. He’s a 2-year-old terrier mix and a neat small- to medium-size. He gets along fine with dogs and cats and loves everyone he meets.

Even though it is cold (really cold) out, Buddy and the other dogs still like to go out for short walks. If you’re interested in being a volunteer dog walker, just give us a call and we can talk about how you can get started. Our volunteer dog walkers are also a great source for getting our dogs adopted. You can take a picture or two while on your walk and give us details on how the dog liked meeting new people or going to new places. There can never be too many people helping our dogs find their fur-ever homes.

Our beautiful Sophie is looking for a retirement home. This girl is 16 years young and just wants a place to lounge around and put up her paws. Like a true princess, she would like to be the only one in her home.

Our cats are always happy to have visitors come in and play with them. There are many toys here for them to play with, but it’s always more fun when they have someone to play with. And they’re extra happy when someone brings in cat treats.

Did you get new towels for Christmas? If Santa passed you by, are you looking for an excuse to buy new ones? We will gladly take your old towels and use them for bedding for the cats.  Our supply is getting low, and our darling cats may soon have nothing to sleep on. And oh my! They do love those soft, warm toweling beds. You can drop them off anytime as our foyer is always open.

The dogs would like us to mention that they would love to have some peanut butter so staff can fill Kongs for them. Kongs are a great way to keep the dogs busy, as it takes a heck of a lot of work to get the peanut butter out of those little holes!

On our wish list: peanut butter (see above), towels (see above) and the usual: non-clumping cat litter, canned cat and dog food, toys for dogs and cats, catnip, cotton swabs and cotton balls.

Please stop in to see us and all our bodacious babies at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is 236-8702 and pawsadoption.org is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
