Owls Head — An Owls Head youth is following in the footsteps of his father.

Jacob Carroll was accepted to participate in the inaugural FBI National Academy Youth Leadership Program, which will be held the last week of June in Foxboro, Mass.

He is the son of Knox County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Tim Carroll and his wife, Heidi.

Tim Carroll graduated Dec. 15 from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.

The youth academy is a week-long program of classroom study, physical fitness, guest lectures and leadership experiences.

Young Carroll had to put a resume and letter together, as well as sit in front of six police chiefs from New England for an oral interview in New Hampshire. He is one of 20 teens chosen from New England.

The youths will also get to meet some New England Patriots players during the week.
