OUT Maine launches virtual events

Apr 07, 2020

Rockland — In this time of rising fear, uncertainty and increased isolation, LGBTQ-plus youth are particularly vulnerable. Social distancing, closed schools, and stay-at-home mandates—especially in homes where they are not supported—pose significant challenges. Heightened anxiety, panic attacks, depression and suicidal thoughts and actions are increasing.

OUT Maine has reorganized its youth programming, designing activities that will foster virtual connections and engage a variety of ages and palates.

The Rainbow Ball Weekend, which had to be cancelled, will now be recreated virtually and weekly workshops will culminate in a Talent Show, May 1 and a live-streamed dance concert, May 2.

Beginning April 13, OUT Maine is launching a daily connecting opportunity with a variety of offerings for youth and young adults.
