The Mussel Ridge Historical Society will be holding an informal opening reception for the Knox County Display of the Eastern Publishing Collection of historical photographs in the upstairs room of the Owls Head Community Building from 6 to 8pm, Thursday August 9th.

Kevin Johnson photo archivist for the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport will give a brief presentation about the Knox County Project at around 7pm.

The display consists of historical photographs from real picture postcards taken throughout Knox County.  Descriptions of each picture have been provided by organizations/individuals from each town in the county.  If you are not able to attend the reception, the collection may be viewed any time the town office is open, which is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 5pm with several viewings available from 2 to 4pm on Sundays.
