Union — A Hope woman received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash that occurred just after 11:30 a.m. Aug. 15 in Union.

According to Lt. Reggie Walker of the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Abigail Dodd, 16, of Hope, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic heading west on Route 17 behind another vehicle and was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 131 south when she entered the path of Jeffrey Connon, 69, of Hope, who was headed east on Route 17 in a GMC Sierra 4x4.

Dodd and Connon were unable to avoid each other and crashed at the intersection.

Both vehicles' airbags were deployed and both drivers were wearing seat belts, Walker reported.

Dodd was taken by Union Ambulance to Pen Bay Medical Center with complaints of back pain. Connon was not injured.

Union Fire and EMS assisted Knox County Sheriff's crews, and traffic along Route 17 was down to one lane for approximately 45 minutes.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Camden Exxon.
