It’s the 30th Anniversary of Pope Memorial Humane Society. You’ve probably seen or heard us mention this a time or two. The real question is, are you ready to celebrate with us? Tickets are officially on sale for our signature 30th anniversary event, Bark + Brew in the Barn, at Harmony Hill Farm in Warren Aug. 14.

Guests will be entertained by DJ Dan Miller and live musical performances from Drive By Todd. Come dance the evening away, play a round or two of cornhole, toss a Frisbee, and eat your way around the barn. The evening’s proceeds benefit Pope Memorial Humane Society and its mission to care for and place unwanted and abandoned animals in loving homes; promoting responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of all animals.

Bark + Brew in the Barn is presented by Loyal Biscuit Co., Genuine Automotive Services Inc., and Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital. Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/BarkandBrew. We fully expect this event to sell out, don’t miss your chance to attend the event of the summer!

We know it’s kitten season, but we would be remiss if we didn’t remind you about our senior cats. One in particular has caught the attention of our staff and volunteers. OJ is an 11-year-old tiger with the sweetest disposition. Don’t let his cranky photo face fool you. He loves to lean in for a good ear scratch and will happily purr away the afternoon in your lap. He does have one ear that is a little crunched; we’re not sure what happened, but it doesn’t bother him! He does enjoy the company of other cats and he has been around children, but we think he would do best in a quieter home. You should come meet OJ, he’ll be the perfect companion in the morning when you’re drinking your juice!
