Rockland — Oceanside High School will host an open house next week to show off its addition and extensive renovations.

The open house is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the school at 400 Broadway.

There is a new cafeteria about double the size of the old one. There is also a new kitchen and separate serving area. The public will also see new entrance and lobby, with new administrative offices and additional individual restrooms are also up and running. The lower level of the school has new locker rooms, an exercise room and weight room that are well lit.

The former administrative offices were converted into three classrooms.

The project cost $9 million. The high school work was the final part of a $23.2 million bond referendum approved in February 2017 by voters throughout Regional School Unit 13. Other projects that were part of the bond package was the new Ash Point Community School in Owls Head, and an addition and renovations to Oceanside Middle School in Thomaston,

The school invites the public to "visit, take a tour, have a snack, mingle and enjoy our newly renovated High School. Hope to see you there."

The picture of my old school looks amazing. I wish it was like that when I was there in the early 80's.
